Dr Morris Murray Special Advisor PhD (Dynamic Properties of cast hypoeutectic Zn-Al alloys), M Eng Sc, BE

Dr Morris Murray is an expert in diecasting technology and has consulted for diecasting companies worldwide. Morris was previously employed by CSIRO and was involved in a number of CAST projects. Morris provides technical support to AMT's activities in the Asia Pacific region but if required, often gets involved in Europe and North America to ensure that newly developed alloys are compatible with the diecasting process and in assisting customers to optimize their diecasting processes and designs.

 

Dr Trevor Abbott General Manager, Operations & Development PhD Manufacturing & Materials Engineering, B.App Science

Dr Trevor Abbott developed the AM-lite® magnesium alloy while working for CAST and joined AMT in January 2005 to lead the continued development of this alloy. Trevor has a degree in Metallurgy and a PhD in casting technology and has worked previously for a research institute in Beijing, China during the late 1980’s and also for BHP in both NSW and Victoria. From 2000 to 2004 he lead the magnesium applications development sector of CAST of which AMT is a founding participant. Trevor continues to be based at Monash University Campus while employed by AMT.
